New talent…and a new member to our extended family!
Tom Barry joined the Read Custom Soils team on November 1, 2011. Tom has an undergraduate degree in Agronomy and a Masters in Turfgrass Management from UConn, bringing a new level of soil expertise to Read. He will be heading up our new Connecticut office.
Tom and his wife Nicky are the proud parents of Baby Ben, born on October 11th.

Read Custom Soils has been acquired by A. D. Makepeace Company!
On September 1, 2011 A. D. Makepeace Company became a major player in the engineered soil business with the acquisition of Read Custom Soils, which has been a leader and innovator in the specialty soils industry for over 15 years.
The A.D. Makepeace Company is the world’s largest cranberry grower, the largest private property owner in Massachusetts, and a recognized leader in environmentally responsible land development and stewardship.

Read Custom Soils will continue to operate from the same Canton office and yard, formerly A. A. Will Sand & Gravel Corp., with the same management and personnel that have grown the business over the last decade.
