Read Custom Soils in March of 2002. Read Custom Soils, which had been based in Rockland, was a leader and innovator in the emerging specialty soils industry during the 1990s. Read Custom Soils operates as an independent division of Will Sand / Canton (www.willsand.com). Although these businesses share the same office and senior management, they have independent marketing and production personnel. Read Custom Soils has benefited greatly from the production efficiency and strict quality control procedures of the parent company. The level of customer service has also been dramatically improved through the combined dispatch operations and large truck fleet available from Will’s independent trucking fleet. The new company logo, adopted in 2005, is the last symbolic step away from the traditional “sand & gravel” image towards the new, professional approach that this complex market requires.   Today Read Custom Soils can meet nearly any specialty soil specification. We have the knowledge, experience and expertise needed to blend soil components to achieve the desired design characteristics. We are licensed to manufacture the proprietary CU Structural Soil™.  Using lightweight aggregate delivered by rail, we have developed a variety of lightweight soil blends that can be found on landmark projects throughout New England. We are the Massachusetts distributor of Zeo Pro™ advanced soil amendments.   We invite you to fax us your soil specifications or contact us for information about blending capabilities. We operate three soil blending facilities that feature state-of-the-art screening and blending equipment, tremendous storage capacity and efficient load-out capability.
